A brilliant goal in the final minute from Sulley Muntari gave hosts Ghana a 2-1 win over Guinea in the opening match of the 2008 African Cup of Nations.

Guinea defended admirably with Celtic's Bobo Balde marshalling the back-line.

It took the host nation until the scond half to break the scoreless deadlock when a soft penalty was awarded to Ghana after Agogo(Nottingham Forest) was tripped in the box.Until then Celtic's Bobo Balde steadfastly marshalled the back-line Asamoah Gyan stepped up to fire past Kemoko Camara, but ten minutes later Guinea shocked the home crowd with an equaliser from Oumar Kalabane who powered home a header.A goal that made amends for his earlier misdemenour that gave away the penalty

Pompey midfielder Sulley Muntari won the game with a thunderbolt shot from 25 yards in the final minute.

Meanwhile Balde is keeping his cool whilst in Africa. He hinted that he will only leave Celtic for the right club... he’ll hold out for a high-flying club after being linked to some of the mid-level Premiership teams.
