Gould:The Celtic goalkeeper's jersey is a privilege rather than a burden

It's five years since Jonathan Gould left Glasgow, yet he still dreams of playing again for Celtic.

The former goalkeeper travelled from New Zealand to turn out for Phil O'Donnell's memorial game on Sunday.

Whilst Artur Boruc ponders potential offers from abroad this summer, 39-year- old Gould has some advice for him.
The Celtic goalkeeper's jersey is a privilege rather than a burden, he argues, and the Artur should realise that the grass is not always greener elsewhere.

Despite the distance Gould has kept in touch with Boruc's displays via the internet.
Boruc has been outstanding," he said. "I've seen all his YouTube controversial stuff and a couple of the clips leave a bit to be desired. But some of the saves he has made have been outstanding. He has all the attributes needed to be a great goalkeeper and he is not short of confidence.

"Boruc has it all. He believes in his ability and has shown that on a regular basis for Celtic. I'm not surprised they now talk of him as one of the top goalkeepers in Europe.

"He is up there because he has played to a very high level. I've seen him make very few errors - and I've seen him make some wonderful saves.

"Boruc has it all there out in front of him and my advice would be to stay at Celtic as long as he can. It's not until you leave that you realise how big the place is.

"You have 60,000 fans every other week and the team is getting better every time they play in the Champions League. It's a great place to be."
