The unwashed who verbally abused Artur Boruc for the duration of yesterday's match should not be surprised that he gave them a one finger salute in return for their goading.
The Holy Goalie made the gesture after his error cost Celtic the final goal of a 4-2 defeat by Rangers.
Yes he's a professional footballer and he is expected to behave appropriately but that does not give the travelling rabble the right to abuse him in such a personal manner
Rangers fans behind his goal had taunted him mercilessly throughout the second half at Parkhead, seizing on reports that the keeper’s marriage was in trouble.

They chanted: “F*** you Boruc, McGregor’s s*****d your wife” — a reference to the sexual exploits of their own goalie Allan McGregor.

And after Kenny Miller’s goal put the game beyond doubt, they sang: “There’s only one Artur Boruc” and cheered the Pole’s every touch he had of the ball.

John Macmillan, general secretary of the Rangers Supporters Association, said Boruc “brings a lot of abuse upon himself because of his antics”.

He added: “I often keep an eye on him because I am often asked to comment on something he has done.”

He did not see yesterday’s incident but added: “If that is the case, it is way over the top now.

Fact is Rangers fans hate Boruc with a vengeance and will do their utmost to goad him into reacting.Those that were involved in his character assassination yesterday have no moral grounds for villifying him to the football authorities
