McGeady is happy in new forward role
AIDEN McGEADY is revelling in his new role up front for Celtic after a pre-season that saw him selected as the right side of an attacking trio including Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Georgios Samaras with some success, writes Paul Hyland
The Bhoys last friendly produced an excellent 3-1 win over Feyenoord at the weekend and McGeady believes that his new role will see him much more involved than before. "It was not a free role but you were allowed to drift in when it was on to get on the ball, I was happy doing that," said McGeady. "I played that role when I was younger and I enjoyed it. We did play well and the midfield were able to get the ball into the strikers as well as me."
McGeady will explore the role further against Manchester City tonight and has urged Celtic fans not to get to too worked up about Sunday's performance against Feyenoord. "You don't want to go overboard about the result because it was just a pre-season game. But there was a lot of heart to be taken from it," claimed McGeady.
