SPL trophy on its way to Cleator Moor Celtic
THE Scottish Premier League Trophy will be making its way to Cleator Moor in Cumbria this month – in the company of a Celtic legend Tommy Gemmell.

Gemmell, one of the Lisbon Lions, who was part of the Celtic squad that won the European Cup in 1967 will be the special guest at a sportsman’s dinner at Cleator Moor Celtic FC on October 17,bringing with him the SPL trophy, courtesy of Glasgow Celtic.
Gemmell, who was also a Scottish international, played over 400 times for Celtic, before moving to Nottingham Forest in 1971.
He scored in both of Celtic’s European Cup finals, in 1967 – when they won – and in 1970
The cup will be on display for most of the day, with some of the youngsters getting their chance to see some impressive silverware.
Cleator Moor Celtic were founded by Irish immigrants employed in the local iron ore mines and next year celebrate their centenary
