After a poor first-half display by the hoops,Scott McDonald's second half goal (his first in six games) inspired Celtic to victory over Gretna

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and substitute Georgios Samaras got on the scoresheet reducing Ranger's lead the top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League to three points ahead of next week's derby clash at Ibrox.

Celtic now have the chance to draw level on points with Rangers next week although the unwashed have a game in hand.
